Looking for sewing classes and instruction? Want to learn to sew with beginner sewing classes? Sewing instruction is fun and easy with our Sewing Classes! Take sewing lessons for beginners, clothing, quilting, crafting, embroidery, and more. Your age or skill level doesn't matter. We have sewing classes for kids, teens, and adults. Are you a beginning sewer? Our basic beginner classes assume you know nothing about sewing. You'll enjoy learning how to sew in a fun, relaxed, judgement-free atmosphere! If you're an advanced sewer, we have classes that will challenge you and sharpen your skills.

We will be making the Kelly Skirt by pattern designer Megan Nielsen from Perth, Australia. This skirt is a flattering, high waisted A-line skirt with fitted waistline. It features a button front placket, wide waistband, large scoop pockets and pleating in the front and back. Created with the beginner sewer in mind, this versatile and easily adaptable pattern will work through all seasons, and with a variety of fabrics. This class will not only show you how to make this skirt, but also several techniques to modify and improve it using decorative topstitching, bound seams and several other seam techniques.

Do you want to learn how to put in a professional looking hem? Whether it’s dress pants, kakis, jeans, a t-shirt or a party dress you will learn quick and easy ways to hem these garments with the sewing machine. You are encouraged to bring 2 or 3 items to be hemmed to the class. A variety of fabrics will be supplied for each student to make a sampler of techniques to take along home. Warning: If you choose to tell your friends and family that you have taken this class you will never be without items to be hemmed!

Learn the art of Hawaiian Appliqué and listen to some of the history and folklore of Hawaiian Quilting. In this class, we will be following the instructions in the book “Hawaiian Quilting.” You will learn how to prepare the fabric for appliqué, begin appliquéing, and discuss traditional Hawaiian quilt designs. Grass skirts not required!

Dress up your table with these elegant looking placemats. They are quick, fun and easy to make. In just one session, you will learn the technique for the spiral design and finish a couple of placemats. Then the instructor will show you how to “pop” your project with a couching technique and decorative threads. The pattern is “Spirals” by Designs to Share with You, and can be ordered through the instructor before class.

During this week long sewing camp, you will outfit your 18” doll for our end of the week PJ party. You will make her a nightgown and bean bag chair for relaxing. Then when it’s time to snooze, she will have a beautiful new sleeping bag and pillow made by you! Your best gal will be thrilled with her new ensemble, but there is one more surprise. You will make a matching pillow case for yourself. Everyone at the party will know that you two go together.

Quilting has become the fastest growing segment in the field of sewing. If you want to find out what all the commotion is about then this is where you belong. You will learn the language and techniques of quilting such as how to use a rotary cutter & sew a 1/4” seam. After learning the basics, you will see how fun quilting can be when you complete your first nine patch block. Warning: quilting is addictive. Teacher is not responsible for future uncontrolled quilting. :)

This class is geared toward the beginner quilter or those who want to refresh or improve their basic quilting skills. You will learn rotary cutting, piecing squares, half square triangles, strip piecing, appliqué and bias strips. We will discuss sashing, borders, and different layouts. At the end of the class you will have completed nine blocks and should feel confident making most blocks found in magazines and patterns.
