THANKS FOR ALL WHO MADE PROJECT LINUS
"MAKE A BLANKET DAY 2007" A SUCCESS

AND THE WINNER IS...

Barb Biddle (left) was the winner of our Janome #3050 computerized sewing machine!  She is being presented with her prize by Deb Vasile of Discount Vacuum & Sewing Center.  Everyone who donated a handmade blanket earned an entry into the drawing for the free machine.  Barb was the lucky winner!

The date was February 17, 2007. That's the day we held our annual Project Linus National Make A Blanket Day! This is our fourth year of participation in Project Linus and we can't think of a better cause. The event is a benefit for Project Linus, a non-profit organization with a mission to provide love, security, warmth and comfort to children across the country who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need. This is a culmination of blanket making workshops that occur throughout the year. Groups and individuals have dropped off blankets to both locations of Discount Vacuum & Sewing Center because of our association with Project Linus. That is something that we do all year. If you have blankets, we'll take them.  See us for blanket specifications and information or log on to www.orgsites.com/pa/cdprojectlinus.

There were so many "Blanketeers that our classroom was full!  These ladies are in our showroom tagging the dozens of blankets we received.

Making blankets during "Make A Blanket Day".  These ladies worked all day to create memorable blankets for children in need.

Many of the blankets were so beautiful and thoughtfully made, even the volunteers had to stop and admire them!

Each person that made a blanket was entered into a drawing for a FREE Janome #3050 computerized sewing machine valued at $699.  Here the winning name of Barb Biddle is selected (see picture at top of page).  Pictured left to right are Project Linus Area Coordinators Karen Stetler, Ann Smyser, and Discount Vacuum & Sewing Center's Deb Vasile.

Here they are!  The dedicated "Blanketeers" who worked so hard to bring comfort to children in need.

Front row L to R: Elaine Dauphin, Jane Holz.  Back row: Anita Fisher, Ann Hagan, Bonnie Kozemchak, Helen Boose, Ann Smyser, Ann Huff, Marie Brookes, Karen Stettler

Many of these ladies make blankets all year long.  We salute EVERYONE who played a part in Make A Blanket Day and who has made Project Linus such a local success.  Congratulations!
